Our Origins

Our Founding Vision: Hospitality, Evolved

Built by hotel owners. Crafted to protect assets, drive real results, and honor a legacy of ownership.

Founded in New Orleans in 1999 by three prominent hotel owners—David Burrus, George Newton III, and Darryl Berger, Sr.—Expotel Hospitality began with one defining promise: operate every property as if it were their own, prioritizing optimal cash flow and long-term asset value above all else.

From day one, Expotel set itself apart from traditional managers. The founding partners believed owners deserved more than generic oversight—they needed a company willing to think, act, and invest like owners, providing true transparency and maximizing return. This owner-centric mentality remains the foundation of every relationship, every strategy, and every decision Expotel makes.

The founders’ vision continues to guide the team today, binding a culture built on trust, strategic performance, and genuine care for each investment. By leading with empathy, transparency, and relentless attention to outcomes, Expotel honors its founders’ legacy with every success story.

"We think like owners because we’ve always been owners. Our commitment comes from experience, our confidence from a track record of results."
