New Orleans, LA (December 19, 2011) – Expotel Hospitality, an innovative and well-known hotel management company, held their annual meeting aboard Carnival Elation for a four day cruise with a stop in Cozumel, Mexico. The educational and celebratory cruise meeting capped off a successful 2011 portfolio performance with four days of instructive presentations, and an awards ceremony to highlight the event.
Expotel’s annual meeting focused on the present year performance and its successes with emphasis on planning for 2012, including the pipeline of new hotels to be added to the portfolio in 2012. Commitments have been made via joint ventures as well as third party management agreements to kick start the New Year for the company.
“We pride ourselves in branding Expotel as ‘hospitality evolved’ meaning we continually evolve ourselves and stay ahead of the curve. Almost all of our instructive presentations this year were dynamic and revolutionary in terms of subject matter as well as technology we are using at our corporate office and in the field,” explained Jeff Iavarone, Vice President Marketing/eCommerce & Sales. “Having had many partnership sponsors made it possible for our company to have this type of meeting, which was a dream come true for all considering hotel teams have done a phenomenal job during a tumultuous time the past three years. We think this was the right way to re-energize everyone and gear up for 2012.”
In attendance was the executive team from Expotel Hospitality, General Managers and Directors of Sales from the hotel portfolio. The event started off with a pre-board vendor show on a Thursday morning before all Expotel personnel boarded Carnival Elation for the annual meeting lasting until Monday morning.
The event was concluded with three major awards given out for Hotel of the Year (Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place, FL), Impact Award (Matt Markopoulos GM, South Beach Biloxi Hotel & Suites), and Sales Professional of the Year (Beth Dicharry, Four Points by Sheraton, New Orleans).
